Put the subject where you want it, six new templates, and new website sections
Covers, section headers and photo tiles crop your photos to fit their shape. You can now mark where the subject is in a photo, and every crop keeps that point in view. There are also six new templates, a video cover frame, five new sections for your website, and Majlis chapters now take their colours from their own photos.
Mark where the subject is in a photo
A crop is what happens when a photo is shown in a shape that does not match it, like a wide cover or a square tile. Until now Gallorie cropped from the middle, so a face near the top could be cut off. Open a gallery, go to Photos, and choose Position on any photo. Drag the point onto the subject. The cover, the section headers, the grid tiles, your website and the link preview all keep that point in view. Photos you do not mark stay exactly as they are.
Six new templates
Montage, Dusk, Runway, Chronicle, Ceremony and Couple. Each one pairs a cover frame with a section header style, so the gallery feels designed from the first screen to the last set. Pick one in the Templates panel. The matching look for your website comes with it, and the template preview now shows the gallery and the website side by side.
The existing templates have a new opening
Seventeen of the templates you already know now open on one of the new cover frames and a drawn section header. A gallery on one of these templates shows the new opening the next time a client opens it, unless you chose your own cover frame or header for that gallery. Your motion settings do not change.
A film clip as your gallery cover
StudioVideo is now one of the cover frames. Pick a short clip from one of your films, or upload one, and it plays silently at the top of the gallery. Clients on slow connections, or who asked their phone for less motion, see the first frame as a still instead. If a clip is too heavy to load quickly, Gallorie tells you why and what to change.
Five new sections for your website, and more page templates
StudioA feature pair (two photos, each with a line of text), a package table, process steps, a call to action band (one line and one button asking visitors to get in touch), and a map of where you shoot. There are now eight page templates to start from instead of three. Pages fade into each other when a visitor moves between them, and you can round the corners of every image or button on the site and lift them off the page.
Your website starts with your business details
StudioIf you have verified your business, the map on your website already marks your home state, and the contact section shows your business phone number. There is a new optional phone field on the verification form for this.
Three new controls in Design
StudioPace sets how fast things move, on galleries and on your website. Title shade sets how dark the tint behind the cover title is, so the title stays readable over a bright photo. Motion ceiling caps how much movement a gallery can have, whatever else is set. The motion cards in the panel now show their own motion.
Majlis chapters take their colours from their own photos
In the Majlis template, each chapter now gets its colours from the photos inside it, kept close to the colours of the whole gallery so the chapters still feel like one book. A chapter whose photos do not agree on a colour keeps the gallery colours.
A second line for a set
A set is a group of photos you name yourself. You can now give a set a short second line, like a place or a date. It appears under the set name on the chapter cover in Majlis and in the passage header style.
- Section headers now appear on galleries that use a grid template. Before, they showed in the studio preview but not on the gallery your client opened.
- Photos in a grid gallery now fade in as your client scrolls, following the motion setting you chose. This also only worked in the preview before.
- Compare mode and the note your client leaves with a selection now work on every template, not only the grid.
- Grid photos now load in a size made for phone screens, so galleries use less mobile data.
- Your website home page shows its first screen sooner, because the page now arrives already drawn.
- When a client has asked their phone for less motion, covers and page changes now hold still at every motion setting.
- A gallery set to the video cover frame with no clip shows the cover photo instead of an empty space.
- On phones, the browser bar now takes the colour of the page your client is looking at.
